I've come up with an elegant solution that solves both issues: I put a beer koozie inside the case. "This is a great little pouch, it fits my Fuji X Half perfectly. It is a bit snug for a X100vi though, and if you have a lens filter/attachment it will not fit in the pouch. Still great quality!"
